I had another great opportunity to work with The Lions again. They wanted an updated version of their 2022 promo, but this time to include interviews with many of the delegates who were on this years course. The challenge was I had a week to get the crew together as The Lions were having their monthly meet-up, and the final edit needed to be completed 2 weeks later for playout at a major UK music festival.
The Lions had also updated their logo, so all previous animations and videos required updating.
Approach
I quickly made contact with those I'd worked with in 2022 and booked travel and accommodation. The style of the new promo needed to be similar to 2022, but updated. So I ensured my interview questions were similar, but also had a new focus for those who were now attending the course.
On the day we had challenges with cold wet weather, so located an interesting interior location, and then proceeded to film the interviewees. The edit involved cutting down 90 minutes of footage into 1 minute of tight story-telling that conveyed the passion and goal of The Lions.
